I hope this newsletter finds all of you thinking about new stitching projects for spring & summer.
We have some great events planned for this season with all of them focused around Home,
Garden or Americana. Classes, Workshops, Tea Parties, Block-Of-The-Months, Mysteries and
even Summer Day Camp for Quilters, are just a few of them. We have lots of new books &
patterns & as always we have hundreds of new fabrics from all of our favorite fabric designers
that have been arriving daily. We also have a Trunk Show in the Shop of 5 beautiful quilts from
The Quilted Cardinal. I look forward to seeing you all soon, but until then, think spring and
enjoy our new class schedule.

Class Policy
**Class size is limited and payment for class is at time of registration.
**If you register by phone, credit card payment is expected.
**If you cancel from a class you must give us 7 days notice in order to
receive a store credit.
**Because of our busy schedule we do not have make-up classes, so, PLEASE
Mark your calendar & make every effort to arrive prepared.
**We reserve the right to cancel any class that does not meet the minimum.
**Supply lists are available only after registration & payment has been made.
**It is the responsibility of the student to pick up the needed supply list & supplies
Prior to the date of class.
This year we are starting four new Block-Of-The-Month Programs
Two of the Block-Of-The-Month programs are classes & two are pick-ups or mail order
BIRDS-OF-A-FEATHER - Block-of-the-Month - This folk-art style quilt is machine pieced with
hand appliqué. Classes start in May & meet once a month for a year. This is a great way to
make a stunning quilt while you fine tune your appliqué skills. Choose your own color scheme &
border style. Book required.
Day Class: Sunday - 2:00-4:00 May 4th, June 1st , July 6th & Aug 3rd
Evening: Friday – 7:00-9:00 May 9th, June 13th, July 11th & Aug 8th
Class Fee: $40.00 plus supplies 2nd installment due 9/1, 3rd due 1/1.
GLORY BOUND – Block-of-the-Month – If you love Americana then this is the quilt for you
done in red, white & blue. Hand & machine pieced with hand appliqué. Classes start in May &
meet once a month for 8 months.
Day class: Sunday – 2:00-5:00 May 18th, June 15th, July 20th & Aug 4th
Afternoon: Friday - 1:00-4:00 May 23rd, June 20th, July 18th & Aug 22nd
Class Fee: $45.00 plus supplies 2nd installment due 9/1.
SEWING ROOM SAMPLER – Block-of-the-Month – This delightful spool bordered sampler quilt
is a must have for every sewing room. Completely machine pieced with a variety of block sizes
& shapes. This is a BOM project that you pick up or receive through the mail. Fabrics in kit are
a variety of country colors. Easy to read instructions make it a perfect quilt for anyone from
beginner to advanced.
Program starts June 6th, runs for 10 months & is ready for pick up the 1st Friday of each
month. Kits are $12.00 a month (shipping not included in monthly fee).
RABBITS PREFER CHOCOLATE – Block-of-the-Month – This is an adorable bunny rabbit quilt
that is the ultimate spring wallhanging. Machine pieced & hand appliquéd, this is a BOM project
that you pick up or receive through the mail. Fabrics in kit are pinks, reds, tans, yellows, greens
& browns. Program starts June 20th, runs for 12 months & is ready for pick up the 3rd Friday of
the month.
Kits are $12.00 a month (shipping & borders not included in monthly fee).
FATT QUARTER FRIENZY – If you have been collecting fatt ¼’s & saying to yourself that you
will use them someday, well, this is the class for you. Students will learn to properly co-ordinate
fabrics while making a different scrap quilt each month. Easy rotary cutting & machine piecing
make this a great class for everyone. Each pattern allows you to create any size from
wallhanging to king. Sign up for one class or all of them & get a start on making some great
holiday gifts.

BABY’S DAY OUT – Precious is the word that comes to mind when you work on this hand
embroidered & machine pieced baby quilt.

SEED KEEPER’S APRON – This adorable child sized apron has a wool appliqué bib with over
sized pockets for holding colorful packets of garden seeds. Hang it in your kitchen or screen
porch for a delightful summer accent.

CIRCLE STAR QUILT – This 2 week class is for learning how to hand piece curves & fine
points with accuracy. It makes a great take along project. The blocks are large & they work up
very fast which allows you to create a wallhanging or bed size while sitting at the beach or at
camp this summer.
Class Dates: Saturday – 1:00-4:00 May 3rd & 10th
Class Fee: $25.00 plus supplies
STARRY CHAIN QUILT – Our shop sample is machine pieced in red, tan & blue which makes
this quilt a true piece of Americana. Choose you own color scheme or keep it patriotic. Sewing

MEMORIES IN MAY- TEA PARTY – Celebrate Mother’s Day and create a delightful Pickering
Farm wool appliqué design while enjoying home baked desserts & beverages. The only thing to
bring to class is a pair of scissors & your appetite.

PINEAPPLE LOG CABIN – This class is back by popular demand. The quilts from the winter
session were spectacular. Paper foundation pieced with ease, the blocks work up faster than
you can imagine & you can make any size from wallhanging or tablecloth to king. Sewing
machine required.
Class Dates: Saturday – 9:00-11:00 May 17th, 24th, 31st & June 7th

FINISH IT UP FRIDAY’S – Many of you have unfinished projects that are hard to get back to for
one reason or another. You loved it when you started it & you will love it even more when you
finish it. Join us for an evening of light summer salad, homemade bread, dessert & beverage &
get that project finished.

SLICE OF SUMMER WALLHANGING – This cotton appliquéd & machine pieced quilt is filled
with summer fruits & flowers. We start with a beautiful Baltimore style appliquéd block &
surround it with a simple checkerboard border. It is truly a wallhanging that fits into any home
décor style.

FLAG DAY TABLERUNNER – WORKSHOP - Make this patriotic runner with quick & easy
machine piecing & a hand embroidered verse within the light stripes. Class starts at 9:00, break
for lunch at 12:00 (bring a bagged lunch) resume sewing at 1:00 & finish up at 3:00 for one of
Steve’s homemade desserts & coffee. Is there a better way to celebrate FLAG DAY? Kit

CINNAMON ROLL SUNDAY – Start summer off the right way & join us for three different kinds
of cinnamon rolls, fruit & coffee, then off to the classroom to work on one of my new wool
Penny Rug projects for summer. This is a seasonal companion piece to the April (spring)
Workshop.

MY FAVORITE FLAG – WORKSHOP – Many of you have admired the flag quilt hanging in the
shop. Well, here is your chance to make it all in one day, enjoy the company of fellow quilters &
feast on one of Steve’s homemade desserts. We have ordered the new Coverlet Collection by
Mary Koval which will be in just in time to choose your fabrics. Class starts at 9:00,break for
lunch at 12:00 (bring a bagged lunch) back to sewing from 1:00-3:00 with dessert served at 3:

MYSTERY IN THE TEA ROOM – We have two Tea Parties scheduled for this summer. We will
be making companion pieces to the colonial project that we started in March. Join us for a

1930’s VINTAGE STYLE – This is another great workshop day where we will be working on
two different machine pieced & hand appliquéd quilts inspired by the 1930’s. Class samples are
made from vintage fabrics. We have a large selection of prints & solids to help you replicate this
popular 1930’s look. The block & layout allow you to create any size you desire. Class will start
at 9:00, lunch at 12:00 (bring a bagged lunch) back to sewing from 1:00-3:00 with dessert
served at 3:00.

MYSTERY AT THE BEEHIVE – Our summer class schedule would not be complete if we didn’t
include a cotton mystery project. The inspiration for this quilt came from watching Steve tend to
his Italian Honey Bees. No! it is not a Honey Bee quilt & there is no appliqué. Just machine
piecing. Sewing Machine required.
Class Dates: Saturday – 9:00-11:00 August 2nd, 9th, 16th & 23rd

SUMMER DAY CAMP FOR QUILTERS
